A meeting with Olga Tokarczuk

Credits: 1EC for preparation, participation and short assignment (please see below). NB: Credits can only be awarded to humanities ReMA and PhD students from Dutch universities.

Polish Nobel Prize-winning author Olga Tokarczuk has won the European Literature Prize for her latest novel Empusion. Together with her translator Karol Lesman, she will pick up this prize on November 2nd. The day before, on Friday 1 November, there will be an opportunity to meet the author and engage in a Q&A with her. If you wish to attend this meeting, please e-mail dr. Jesse van Amelsvoort (j.d.vanamelsvoort@uva.nl). Space is limited, but OSL students will be prioritized. OSL students can obtain 1 EC by reading the novel, attending the event and submitting a brief reflection piece (800 words) to osl@rug.nl by November 15th, end of day.

In the evening of November 1st, Olga Tokarczuk will also be interviewed by literary critic Margot Dijkgraaf in the Lutherse Kerk in Amsterdam. She will be joined on stage by her translator Karol Lesman and ELP jury president Niña Weijers. Please register via THIS LINK.
