Podcast Moving Europe: Literary Interventions
We are proud to announce the publication of the first two episodes of Moving Europe: Literary Interventions, a podcast series hosted by Astrid Van Weyenberg (Leiden University) and Margriet van der Waal (RUG/UvA) for the Netherlands Research School for Literary Studies (OSL). In each episode, students explore how literature reflects, challenges, and responds to the narratives of Europe that circulate in the public sphere. Episode 1, “The limits of empathy in Erpenback’s Go, Went, Gone (2015)”, is presented by Anna Loi and Ymke van Doorn and features Dr. Sanne Rotmeijer (Leiden University). Episode 2, “Ghostly Encounters in Evaristo’s Soul Tourists (2005)”, is presented by Maura Martens and Sterre Schols and features Safae el Khannoussi about her debut novel Oroppa (2024). The podcasts were recorded in November 2024 at Leiden University, with the help of Thomas Vorisek and Nathalie Muffels.
This podcast is made during the OSL Workshop: Moving Europe: Making a podcast series about narratives of Europe. OSL expects to offer the course again in the academic year 2025-2026.
